Godfrey has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the care industry and impressed us with his positive outlook, friendly character and great understanding of what is required in order to give the best possible care to our residents.
We wanted to get to know our new Home Manager a little bit more – so we put Godfrey to the test with some fun icebreaker questions below.
When did you start your career in care and what prompted you to do so?
I started my nursing in 1998 as a student. I was prompted to join nursing after seeing my fathers care in hospital – I was impressed with the care and compassion we received as a family and wanted to help others.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Treat everyone fairly and with respect.
What are the key pillars for successful and positive nursing care?
Positive leadership, a happy and empowered staff team and a welcoming environment.
Where are you most likely to be found on your day off?
Out walking, watching football or at social events.
Describe your management style in three words.
Open, honest and fair.
What are you most excited for in 2022?
Starting a new job and our communities opening up more so we can start socialising again.
Godfrey has an open-door policy, so please pop along to introduce yourself during your next home visit.
