Lady of the Vale Autumn Newsletter

6 November 2024

Welcome to our latest newsletter!

Autumn is here which means lots of cosy evenings, golden leaves and delicious hot drinks to enjoy; along with the usual fun festivities that come this time of year – such as Bonfire Night and Halloween.

We are pleased to announce that our Summer garden party raffle raised a total of £760! Thank you to all who took part and well done to all our winners! During our recent residents meeting in August, it was suggested that we buy a new, larger TV for the first floor lounge for all to enjoy, so that’s exactly what we did!

It’s been a busy season so far, in September we recreated a funfair complete with candy floss and games. We also made our own wishing well using chocolate coins where a winner was chosen at random to receive a gift, congratulations to our winner James Slater who won a lovely shower gel. In October we supported Breast Cancer Awareness Day with a coffee morning and raised £15.41, thank you to all who contributed and Waitrose for donating delicious cakes.

We recently invited relatives and professionals to give feedback of their experience here at Lady of the Vale, Congratulations to Kathryn Kwan, from Hive physio, Kathryn was selected in the draw to win a £50 Amazon gift voucher!

We are also pleased to announce that our Connections coffee mornings have started and we have welcomed our first visitors into our home as part of our loneliness prevention campaign, we look forward to its growing success.

In July we had a camera crew visit to assist us in updating our online virtual brochure, capturing the new décor and fun, loving environment, please keep your eyes peeled to see its debut on the internet!
